What it is

The Viessmann Safety Valve (PRV) 3BAR WITH CLIPS is a 3 bar pressure relief valve used in the Viessmann Vitodens gas boiler range. It opens to discharge water when system pressure exceeds its rated set point, protecting the boiler and heating circuit from over-pressurisation. The valve is supplied with clips for fitting.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water continually discharging from the PRV outlet pipe
  • System pressure repeatedly dropping and needing topping up
  • Valve weeping or passing when system pressure is within normal range
  • Valve failing to reseat after it has opened
  • Visible corrosion, scale or debris around the valve seat

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and serial number match one of the listed appliances
  • Check the existing valve is rated at 3 bar
  • Inspect the valve connections and clips for condition before refitting
  • Confirm the discharge pipework is correctly routed before replacing the valve
