What it is

The ionisation electrode c/w gasket is a Viessmann electrode assembly for the Vitodens 200-W B2HA condensing gas boiler family. It sits in the combustion circuit and provides the flame ionisation signal used by the boiler control to prove that combustion is established and to monitor the flame during operation. The assembly is supplied with its gasket.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Boiler locks out shortly after ignition or fails to prove flame
  • Repeated flame loss faults during a call for heat
  • Erratic or intermittent flame detection with the burner running normally
  • Visible damage, corrosion or contamination on the electrode probe or its insulator
