What it is

The insulation ring, listed as part 7834987, is a front insulation disc used on Viessmann Vitodens gas boilers. It sits at the front of the casing assembly and provides a thermal barrier between the appliance internals and the outer casing. It is supplied by Viessmann as a spare for the Vitodens 050-W, 100-W and 111-W families.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The disc is brittle, cracked or breaking up when handled during service
  • Visible discolouration, scorching or heat damage on the insulation face
  • The disc has come loose from its seating on the front casing
  • Material loss or crumbling around the edges, leaving gaps in the insulation layer

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and serial number against the fit list above
  • Check the existing disc for the part number 7834987 before ordering
  • Inspect the casing fixings and surrounding insulation at the same time, as damage often affects more than one component
  • Verify the appliance is a Vitodens 050-W, 100-W or 111-W variant, as fitment varies across the range
