What it is
The Viessmann Safety Valve PRV 3BAR D19,9 X G1/2 is a 3 bar pressure relief valve used on Viessmann Vitodens boilers. It opens to discharge water when system pressure exceeds its set rating, protecting the boiler and connected pipework from over-pressurisation. This valve is specified for units built from 30.06.2006 onwards.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water continually weeping or dripping from the discharge pipe with the system cold
- System pressure repeatedly dropping or rising without an obvious cause elsewhere
- The valve discharge outlet stays wet after the system has settled
- Scale or debris holding the valve seat open, so it will not reseat
- Visible corrosion or damage around the valve body or outlet

- Confirm the valve is rated at 3 bar for the appliance concerned
- Check the connection is D19,9 with a G1/2 thread
- Match the boiler model against the fitment list above
- Inspect the discharge pipework, as a blocked or undersized discharge route can affect valve operation
