What it is
The Viessmann ignition electrode with gasket is a burner ignition component for Viessmann Vitodens gas boilers. It delivers the ignition spark at the burner to light the gas under demand from the control. The electrode is supplied with its mounting gasket.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler fails to light and locks out on an ignition fault
- No visible spark at the electrode when the boiler calls for heat
- Electrode tip eroded, cracked or badly discoloured
- Insulator body contaminated with soot, white deposits or moisture, causing the spark to track to earth
- Intermittent ignition faults that clear and return without any other fault code present

- Check the electrode and its gasket seat for damage or contamination before fitting
- Isolate the electrical supply and gas at the boiler before starting work
