What it is
The Baxi 7826087 is an ignition electrode used in Baxi gas boilers. It sits at the burner and provides the spark that lights the gas during a demand for heat or hot water. It is a serviceable ignition component for the 400, 600, 800 and Assure 2 series families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler attempts to light but does not fire, then goes to lockout
- No visible spark at the burner when ignition is called
- Repeated ignition attempts before the boiler locks out
- Cracking, heavy sooting or a burnt tip on the electrode
- Arcing or a snapping noise from the electrode area rather than a clean spark
Before you order
- Confirm your boiler model and GC number against the fit list above
- Check the electrode tip and ceramic insulator for cracks, soot or erosion
- Inspect the ignition lead and its insulation before fitting a new electrode
- Verify the part number against the manufacturer's parts list for your appliance
