What it is
The Viessmann 7819967 is sensor 3, a thermistor used for boiler and domestic hot water temperature sensing on Vitodens appliances. It is specified for WB1 and WB2 generation boilers built from 15 January 2004. The sensor reports temperature back to the boiler control, which uses the signal for modulation and safety monitoring.

- Boiler locks out or fails to fire with a sensor-related fault code
- Domestic hot water temperature fluctuates or runs hot and cold
- Flow or return temperature readings on the display are implausible or erratic
- Resistance measured at the sensor falls outside the expected range for the ambient temperature
- Boiler short-cycles or modulates poorly because the control is receiving incorrect temperature data
