What it is
The Viessmann 7818364 is an ionisation electrode used in Viessmann Vitodens gas boilers. It sits in the combustion circuit and provides the flame supervision signal to the boiler control, allowing the burner to prove ignition and continue running. This electrode is specified for WB2-44/60 applications from 12.11.2002 onwards.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler fires, then locks out shortly after ignition because the flame signal is not sustained.
- Repeated ignition attempts with the burner lighting but failing to stay alight.
- Intermittent lockouts that clear on reset and return during the next demand.
- Visible damage to the electrode tip, ceramic insulator or lead connection.
- Soot or contamination build-up on the electrode affecting the flame sensing signal.
