What it is
The Viessmann 7817698 is a secondary burner gasket for Vitodens gas boilers. It fits within the secondary burner assembly of the WB2 and WB3A appliance families, sealing the joint between the mating burner components. It is a service item, renewed when the burner is stripped for inspection or repair.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Gasket hardened, brittle or cracked when the burner is dismantled
- Seal flattened or compressed so it no longer sits proud of the joint
- Soot staining, discolouration or heat marks around the burner joint
- Traces of combustion leakage at the burner face during a service check
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model and serial number against the fit list above
- Check that the secondary gasket is the one required, as primary and secondary burner gaskets are separate items
- Inspect the other burner seals while the appliance is open, as they may need renewing at the same time
