What it is

The Baxi 3-Way Motor Head is the electrically driven actuator that sits on the three-way diverter valve of Baxi Combi 2 appliances. It drives the valve between heating and hot water positions in response to the boiler's control signals. This part is supplied with its retaining clip and carries the manufacturer part number 7812542.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • No hot water while the heating continues to run, or the reverse
  • The valve head does not move when the boiler calls for a change of function
  • Boiler locks out or reports a diverter valve fault
  • Audible buzzing or grinding from the valve head
  • Visible scorching, water ingress or a cracked motor head housing

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and GC number against the fit list above
  • Check the valve body itself for scale or seizure before replacing the head only
  • Inspect the wiring plug and harness for damage
  • Confirm the existing head is retained by a clip of the same type
