What it is
The Baxi 7784164 is a combustion control unit used on the Baxi Assure HEAT 13 appliance. It manages the combustion sequence, monitoring ignition and flame detection so the boiler fires and modulates safely. It is a serviceable control component rather than a consumable.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Repeated lockouts or fault codes relating to ignition or flame detection
- Boiler fails to fire, or fires and then shuts down shortly after
- Intermittent or erratic burner operation that is not traced to gas supply or ignition electrodes
- No response from the combustion sequence when a heat demand is present
- Fault symptoms that persist after the electrode and lead have been checked
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and GC number from the rating plate against the fitment listed above
- Check the existing control unit part number before ordering, as variants exist across the range
- Rule out ignition electrodes, leads and flame sensing faults before condemning the control unit
- Confirm the fault is with the combustion control and not the main PCB or gas valve
