What it is
The Andrews 7750281 is a smoke turbulator for Andrews water heaters, sized for the 1570–2200 range. It sits in the flue or smoke tubes and disrupts the passage of flue gases, increasing heat transfer to the water and reducing stack losses. It is a service item, renewed when performance drops or the flueways are cleaned.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Reduced hot water recovery or slower heat-up than usual
- Flue gas temperatures running higher than normal
- Soot, scale or corrosion visible on the turbulator surfaces
- Turbulators loose, distorted or rattling within the smoke tubes
- Turbulators missing or damaged after a flueway clean
Before you order
- Confirm your Andrews water heater model and that it takes the 1570–2200 turbulator size
- Check how many turbulators the appliance requires
- Inspect the smoke tubes for damage or blockage before fitting
