What it is

The T&P valve is a temperature and pressure relief valve manufactured by Andrews Water Heaters. It is fitted to Andrews water heaters to relieve excess pressure or temperature from the cylinder or vessel, discharging safely through the connected discharge pipe. This version has a 1 1/4 inch connection and a 10 bar setting.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water weeping or dripping from the valve outlet when the system is at normal operating pressure
  • Continuous discharge through the tundish or discharge pipe
  • The valve fails to reseat after a pressure or temperature release
  • Scale, corrosion or debris visible around the valve seat or outlet
  • Discharge occurring at pressures or temperatures below the rated 10 bar setting
