- Water weeping or dripping from the discharge pipe when the system is at normal temperature and pressure

- Continuous discharge that does not stop after the system has cooled
- Scale, corrosion or mineral build-up around the valve body or outlet
- The valve does not reseat fully after a manual test, leaving a persistent drip
