What it is
The 7224763 is a Baxi 3-way valve assembly with an integral bypass, fitted only to combination boilers. It switches the boiler's output between the central heating circuit and the domestic hot water circuit as a tap or the heating calls for flow.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Hot water and heating fight each other - one drops out when the other is called for
- Water hammer or banging noise as the valve switches
- Visible leak at the valve body or bypass
- Boiler short-cycles because the bypass is stuck open or closed
Before you order
- Match the part number on your existing valve before ordering
- Isolate electrical power, gas and water, and depressurise the system, before removal
- Fitting must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer
