What it is

The Baxi 7216607 is a plate heat exchanger supplied with seals, fitted to Baxi combi boilers to transfer heat from the primary circuit into the domestic hot water supply. The two water paths pass across alternating plates, so the appliance can heat mains water on demand without storing it. It is the component that delivers hot water to the taps on the Main Eco Combi and Tzerra Combi families.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Hot water temperature at the taps fluctuates or runs cool while the heating side works normally
  • Domestic hot water flow rate drops noticeably compared with the cold supply
  • Water weeping from the plate stack or around the seal faces
  • Scale or debris blocking the plate channels, causing kettling or noisy operation on hot water demand
  • Repeated DHW-related fault codes or lockouts on the appliance display

Before you order

  • Check the GC number and model on the appliance data badge against the compatibility list before ordering
  • Confirm whether your appliance carries the alternative number 1111333 or the previous number S101751
  • Seals are supplied with this exchanger; inspect the seal faces and mating surfaces before refitting
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
