What it is
The Baxi 7211855 is a flame sensing electrode used in Baxi Ecoblue and Duo-Tec 2 boiler ranges. It sits in the combustion circuit and provides the flame signal back to the boiler's control board, allowing the PCB to confirm that ignition has taken place and to shut the gas valve if the flame is lost.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out shortly after ignition, or fails to prove flame and goes to lockout
- Repeated lockout on start-up with the burner lighting briefly then extinguishing
- Flame signal faults or flame loss errors logged by the boiler controls
- Visible damage to the electrode tip, insulator or lead
- Electrode probe heavily oxidised, cracked or contaminated
