What it is
The Baxi 720852001 is the front door for the heat exchanger assembly used on Baxi Megaflo 2 System Compact GA appliances and a number of ErP combi models. It is the removable cover that closes the combustion side of the heat exchanger body, sealing flue products within the path the appliance was designed for. It is a serviceable component, replaced when the door itself or its sealing face is corroded, distorted or otherwise unable to seat correctly.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Corrosion, pitting or heat discolouration visible on the door face
- Soot or dark staining around the door edge, suggesting the seal is no longer gas-tight
- Combustion readings drifting outside the range specified for the appliance
- Warping or distortion of the door so it no longer sits flat against the exchanger body
- A flattened or damaged sealing face after the door has been removed and refitted
