What it is

The Baxi Nut Flange DIN 6923 M8 is a flanged hex nut manufactured to the DIN 6923 standard, with an M8 thread. It is supplied by Baxi as a spare for their commercial appliance range and is used to secure components where a standard plain nut would sit on too small a bearing area.

The integrated flange spreads the clamping load across a wider footprint than a conventional hex nut, which helps protect the mounting surface and reduces the chance of the fixing working loose under vibration. It is a small but load-bearing fastener, so it should be replaced with the correct specification rather than a generic nut of similar size.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The nut has corroded, with visible rust or pitting across the flange face or threads
  • The hex flats are rounded or chewed, so a spanner or socket no longer grips properly
  • The thread is stripped, cross-threaded or will not run freely onto the stud or bolt
  • The fixing has loosened in service and will not hold torque after re-tightening
  • The flange face is distorted or cracked, reducing the contact area against the component it clamps

Before you order

  • Check the appliance model and serial number against the compatibility list to confirm this nut is the correct fixing for your unit
  • Confirm the thread size and standard on the existing fastener — M8 to DIN 6923 — before ordering a replacement
  • Note the alternative part number 1134750, which may appear on older documentation or parts listings
  • Inspect the mating stud, bolt and washer at the same time, as a damaged thread on the fastener will damage a new nut
