What it is

The Baxi 720061801 is a hall effect sensor assembly manufactured by Baxi for use in its own appliances and in selected Potterton models. It sits on the fan or fan assembly and reads the rotational speed and position of the fan, sending that signal back to the appliance control board so combustion air can be regulated correctly. A failed sensor typically leaves the board unable to confirm that the fan is running, which stops the appliance from firing.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The appliance locks out shortly after a call for heat and needs repeated resets.
  • The fan runs but the board reports no fan feedback, so ignition is never attempted.
  • Intermittent firing, with the appliance running normally on some attempts and failing on others.
  • Fault codes relating to fan speed, air pressure or combustion air appear on the display.
  • Erratic or uneven fan behaviour during the pre-purge and post-purge phases.

Before you order

  • Check the GC number and, where applicable, the serial number suffix on the appliance data badge against the compatibility list before ordering.
  • Confirm the model and serial number range, as some Baxi ErP COMBI variants are listed by serial number ending.
  • This part is fitted to a gas appliance; installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
