What it is

The Heat Exchanger (Spiral) C1 is a Buderus component intended for the 600 series gas boiler range. It transfers heat from the combustion circuit to the heating and hot water circuit. As a spiral-type exchanger, it is supplied as a complete unit for the appliance it serves.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Reduced heating output or poor hot water performance despite correct boiler settings
  • Visible leaks, weeping joints or water loss traced to the exchanger body
  • Kettling, banging or gurgling noises from the exchanger during operation
  • Repeated overheat lockouts linked to restricted or scaled waterways
  • Discolouration, corrosion or debris found on the exchanger surface

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model matches one of the listed 600 series variants
  • Check the existing exchanger for the C1 marking and part number 7099645
  • Inspect associated seals, connections and pipework before fitting
  • Verify the fault is with the exchanger rather than the pump, diverter or controls
