What it is

This is a Buderus grommet, supplied as a pack of six under part number 7098846. It is a sealing component used on Buderus 800 series gas boilers, where it protects pipework and cable runs at the point they pass through casing or panel openings. The grommet cushions the penetration and seals the opening against vibration, chafing and the passage of air or water.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The grommet has hardened, cracked or split, so it no longer grips or seals the opening
  • Visible gaps around a pipe or cable where it passes through the casing or panel
  • Water or air tracking through the penetration point
  • Chafing or rubbing marks on pipework or cable insulation at the opening
  • The grommet has perished or dropped out of its seating

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model against the fit list above before ordering
  • Check the number of grommets required, as the pack contains six
  • Inspect the condition of the surrounding casing or panel opening, as a damaged seating will not hold a new grommet correctly
  • Have the manufacturer part number 7098846 to hand when ordering
