What it is
This is a sight glass, supplied under Buderus part number 7098575. It is a casing component used on Buderus 800 series gas boilers, allowing the burner flame and combustion area to be viewed during servicing and commissioning. The sight glass forms part of the boiler casing assembly and must remain intact and correctly seated to keep the viewing port sealed.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The glass is cracked, chipped or missing, leaving the viewing port open
- The glass is heavily discoloured, sooted or clouded and the flame can no longer be seen clearly
- The seal around the glass has perished, allowing combustion gases to escape at the casing
- Visible staining, heat marking or distortion around the sight glass aperture
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model number against the fit list above
- Check the existing sight glass and its seating for damage before ordering
- Verify the part number 7098575 matches the component being replaced
- Confirm the appliance is isolated and safe to work on before removing the old sight glass
