What it is
The IGNITION TRANSFORMER E8/20 is an ignition transformer manufactured by Ecoflam. It forms part of the burner ignition circuit on Ecoflam oil boilers, generating the high-tension spark that lights the oil/air mixture at start-up. It is listed within the Controls range of oil boiler spares.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Burner fails to ignite, with the control box locking out shortly after start-up
- No visible spark at the electrodes while the burner is running through its ignition sequence
- Repeated lockouts that persist after the electrodes and leads have been checked and set
- Buzzing, arcing or visible tracking from the transformer body during the ignition phase
Before you order
- Confirm the transformer reference on the existing unit is E8/20
- Check the appliance model against the fitment list above before ordering
- Inspect the HT leads, electrode position and control box, as ignition faults are not always caused by the transformer
- Note the SKU 65323243 when matching against the part fitted
