What it is

The Ecoflam monoblock electrode (MIN 1-4-8-12, red resin) is an ignition component for Ecoflam oil boilers and burners. It forms part of the burner's ignition circuit, carrying the spark that lights the oil/air mixture at start-up. The red resin body insulates the electrode within the burner assembly.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The burner fires but fails to ignite, or ignition is intermittent
  • Repeated lockouts on start-up despite a healthy oil supply and clean nozzle
  • Visible cracking, crazing or carbon tracking on the resin insulation
  • Heavy soot or carbon bridging across the electrode tip
  • A weak or irregular spark, or sparking to earth rather than across the gap
