What it is
The Ariston 3000W immersion heater is an electric heating element that screws into the cylinder boss to provide a direct source of domestic hot water. It is specified for Ariston Protech Edition 3 unvented cylinders built from October 2007 up to May 2010. The element is rated at 3000W and is intended for use in the cylinder's immersion boss.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No hot water from the cylinder when the immersion is switched on
- The immersion heater circuit breaker or RCD trips when the element is energised
- Continuity or resistance test across the element terminals reads open circuit
- Repeated tripping after the thermostat has been checked and ruled out
- Visible corrosion, blistering or water weeping at the element head or gasket
