What it is

The Ariston collector solar sonde is a temperature sensor used on the solar collector side of the Kairos MACC cylinder range. It relays collector temperature information back to the cylinder's solar control, allowing the system to manage solar heat input. This version is supplied with a 1 m cable.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Collector temperature readings are erratic, frozen or clearly inaccurate
  • The solar circuit fails to start when the collector is hot
  • Fault or error codes relating to the collector sensor appear on the controls
  • The probe or its cable shows physical damage, corrosion or moisture ingress
