The Ariston 65102198 is an ignition electrode used on Ariston ACO series gas boilers. It sits at the burner and provides the spark that lights the gas during a call for heat. It is a serviceable component and is replaced when the spark path degrades or the electrode is damaged.

- Boiler fails to ignite, with the ignition sequence running but no flame established
- No visible spark at the electrode when the boiler calls for heat
- Cracking, crazing or a broken ceramic insulator on the electrode
- Heavy carbon build-up or corrosion on the electrode tip
- Repeated lockouts on ignition after the gas and flame sensing circuits have been checked
