What it is
The Ariston 6501062700 is a sacrificial anode for Ariston hot water cylinders. It is fitted inside the cylinder to protect the inner lining from corrosion by corroding preferentially in place of the cylinder wall. This anode is specified for cylinders manufactured from October 1998 onwards.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Hot water has a metallic, sulphur-like or rotten egg odour
- Rust-coloured or otherwise discoloured hot water at the tap
- The anode rod is visibly thinned, pitted or heavily consumed when inspected
- Water weeping from the anode connection point
- The cylinder has passed its recommended anode inspection or replacement interval
