What it is

This is a Buderus square-section silicone sealing string supplied in a 10mm x 5mm profile and a 5m length with a self-adhesive backing. It is used as a sealing strip on Buderus GB312 series gas condensing boilers, where it forms a compressible seal between mating surfaces. The silicone material is intended for sealing duties around boiler casings and components.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The strip has hardened or gone brittle and no longer compresses against the mating surface
  • Visible cracks, splits or flattening along the sealing face
  • The adhesive backing has failed and the strip has lifted or come away
  • Traces of leakage or staining at a joint that the strip seals
  • The seal was disturbed during servicing and cannot be reused

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model against the fits list above
  • Check the required profile and length against the seal being replaced
  • Confirm the seal position and that a self-adhesive strip is the correct type for that joint
  • Inspect the mating surfaces for damage or distortion before fitting a new strip
