What it is

The Sime 6285002 ionisation lead is a 1100mm ionisation lead for Sime boilers. It connects the burner's flame-sensing electrode to the boiler's control board. The control board uses this signal to confirm that the burner has lit and is still alight.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler ignites, then shuts down shortly afterwards with a flame-failure fault.
  • The boiler fails to light and locks out during ignition.
  • Lockouts happen intermittently, with no obvious change in heating or hot water demand.
  • The fault recurs after the burner and gas valve have been checked and found to be working.
  • Visible damage, corrosion or loose connections are present on the lead or at its terminations.

  • Confirm the boiler model matches one of the listed fits (He25, He30 or He35) using the rating plate or appliance label.
  • Check that the lead length of 1100mm suits the existing installation before fitting.
