What it is

The Sime smoke chamber fixing screw (part number 6278962) is a component used in Sime Dewy and Planet Dewy gas boilers. It secures the smoke chamber (flue collector) to the boiler casing or heat exchanger. This screw is essential for maintaining a gas-tight seal and proper flue operation.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Corrosion or rust on the screw head or threads
  • Rounded or damaged screw head, making it difficult to turn
  • Stripped threads preventing a secure fit
  • Loose smoke chamber causing flue gas leaks
  • Visible wear or deformation of the screw

Before you order

  • Check your boiler model against the fit list above
  • Verify the screw dimensions and thread type match your existing part
  • Confirm the quantity required for your repair
  • Inspect other fixings for wear and replace if necessary
