What it is

The Sime 6278308 is a premix burner used in selected Sime gas boilers. It mixes gas and air before combustion at the burner surface, forming the flame that heats the appliance's primary circuit. It is listed under gas boiler spares in the burner category.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Repeated flame failure or ignition lockout on start-up
  • Uneven or unstable flame, or visible lifting and yellowing at the burner surface
  • Soot deposits or discolouration around the burner and heat exchanger
  • Combustion readings outside the appliance's specified range
  • Popping, roaring or rough running during firing

Before you order

  • Confirm your appliance model and GC number against the fit list above
  • Check the burner variant fitted to your boiler, as premix and non-premix assemblies are not interchangeable
  • Inspect the burner gasket and seal, as these are normally renewed with the burner
  • Verify the part number 6278308 on the existing component or the manufacturer's parts list
