Sime Plate Heat Exchanger 6265659

This is an 18-plate plate-type heat exchanger manufactured by Sime. It is fitted to the Sime Murelle Advanced HE40 boiler family, where it transfers heat between the primary circuit and the domestic hot water circuit. The plate stack provides a compact, high-surface-area path for heat transfer between the two sealed water circuits.

• Domestic hot water running hot and cold or losing temperature during draw-off
• Reduced hot water flow rate compared with the cold supply
• Scale or debris blocking the plate channels, causing poor heat transfer
• Visible leaks, weeping or staining around the plate pack or its connections
• Water escaping from between the plates or at the gasket edges

• Confirm the boiler model and variant against the fitment list above
• Check the existing heat exchanger for plate count and physical layout before removal
• Inspect the connecting pipework, seals and O-rings for condition, as these are not supplied with the part
• Isolate the water and gas supplies and drain down before starting work
