What it is

The WHITE PLASTIC SPRING is a small plastic spring supplied by Sime under part number 6258850. It is used as a component within the assemblies of several Sime gas boiler ranges, including Avant, Dewy and Super Four models. It carries out the spring function for the assembly it sits in, returning or holding a moving part in position.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The spring has lost tension, so the part it acts on no longer sits or returns correctly
  • Visible cracks, splits or a broken coil
  • Distortion, whitening or other degradation of the plastic
  • The spring sits out of position or drops free when the assembly is opened

Before you order

  • Check the boiler model against the fit list above before ordering
  • Confirm the part number on the existing spring or in the appliance documentation
  • Inspect the surrounding assembly for damage that may have caused the spring to fail
