What it is

A pair of SIT gas valve coils supplied by Sime under part number 6223602. The coils form the electromagnetic operating component of the gas valve, driving the valve open and closed in response to the boiler's control signals. They are used across a range of Sime gas boiler models.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler fails to ignite or locks out intermittently with the gas valve not opening.
  • No gas is delivered to the burner despite a call for heat from the control board.
  • The coil windings show visible signs of overheating, swelling or discolouration.
  • Open-circuit or incorrect resistance readings when the coils are tested with a multimeter.
  • The gas valve operates erratically or drops out once the appliance has warmed up.

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the fitment list above.
  • Check the existing coils for damage or test their resistance before replacing.
  • Verify that the fault lies with the coils rather than the gas valve body or the control board.
  • Isolate the gas and electrical supply before carrying out any work on the valve.
