What it is

The DHW heat exchanger A/21 is a domestic hot water heat exchanger manufactured by Sime for use in its gas boiler range. It transfers heat from the primary circuit to the domestic hot water supply, so the appliance can deliver hot water at the tap. It is supplied under Sime part number 6222800.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Domestic hot water runs lukewarm or fails to reach temperature
  • Reduced hot water flow rate at the tap compared with normal operation
  • Kettling, banging or rumbling noises when hot water is drawn
  • Water weeping or staining around the exchanger body or its connections
  • Hot water temperature fluctuating between draws

Before you order

  • Confirm the appliance model and GC number from the data badge against the fit list above
  • Check the existing exchanger against Sime part number 6222800
  • Inspect the connections and mounting points for scale, corrosion or distortion
  • Check whether any seals or gaskets are required separately for the installation
