What it is

The Sime 6221643 is an ignition electrode used on Sime Brava DGT appliances. It sits at the burner and provides the spark that lights the gas during a demand for heat or hot water. It is a serviceable component and is replaced when sparking becomes weak or the electrode body is damaged.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The appliance attempts to fire but there is no spark at the burner.
  • Repeated ignition lockouts or failed ignition attempts on a call for heat or hot water.
  • Visible erosion, pitting or carbon build-up on the electrode tip.
  • Cracks or discolouration in the ceramic insulator.
  • Damaged or brittle electrode lead connection.
