What it is

The Sime 6146729 is a 100°C safety thermostat used in Sime gas boilers. It provides overheat protection by interrupting the appliance's heat demand once the water temperature reaches the set limit. It is fitted across the Murelle, Meridian, Edea and Brava Slim HE ranges.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Boiler repeatedly locks out or displays an overheat fault
  • Appliance fires and then shuts down shortly after
  • No heating or hot water despite a call for heat
  • Continuity test across the thermostat reads open circuit when cold
  • Visible corrosion or heat damage on the thermostat body

Before you order

  • Confirm your boiler model and GC number against the fitment list above
  • Check the existing thermostat is rated at 100°C
  • Verify the part number 6146729 matches the component being replaced
  • Isolate the electrical supply and gas before removing the old thermostat
