What it is
The Sime 6146721 is a limit thermostat for Sime gas boilers. It monitors appliance temperature and interrupts the burner circuit if the boiler overheats, acting as an overheat safety cut-out. It is used across the Dewy, Format, Murelle and Planet ranges.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out repeatedly, particularly after running hot
- Burner fires and then cuts out within a short time
- Reset button trips again soon after being pressed
- No heating or hot water because the burner circuit stays open
- Fault code or lockout indicating an overheat condition
Before you order
- Check the boiler model and serial number against the fit list above
- Confirm the existing limit thermostat's part number matches 6146721
- Rule out other causes of overheating, such as a blocked heat exchanger or faulty pump, before replacing the thermostat
- Isolate the electrical supply before fitting
