What it is
The Sime 6146716 is a safety thermostat with a 105°C cut-out set point, used as a limit control on Sime Superior gas boilers. It monitors appliance temperature and interrupts the burner circuit if the set point is exceeded, protecting the boiler from overheating. It is listed under thermostats within Sime gas boiler spares.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out and will not fire, with the safety limit having tripped
- Appliance runs and then cuts out repeatedly once it reaches temperature
- No continuity across the thermostat terminals when cold
- Boiler fails to reset or restarts only briefly after resetting the limit
- Overheat fault indicated on the appliance controls
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the fit list above before ordering
- Check the temperature rating and part number marked on the existing thermostat
- Isolate the electrical supply and allow the appliance to cool before inspection or replacement
- Verify the fault is with the safety thermostat and not with the control thermostat, sensor or wiring
