What it is
The Chaffoteaux 61401809 is an air pressure switch used on the Chaffoteaux SX 14 FF NAT GAS boiler. It monitors the pressure created by the fan and flue system, confirming that airflow is present before the boiler is allowed to fire. If the switch does not sense the correct pressure, the boiler will not proceed to ignition and will lock out.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out shortly after the fan starts, with no ignition attempt
- Fan runs but the boiler repeatedly fails to fire
- Intermittent lockouts that clear on reset and return
- Boiler fires only occasionally or cuts out during a demand
- Error or lockout code relating to airflow or fan proving on the appliance display
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model is the Chaffoteaux SX 14 FF NAT GAS
- Check the part number on the existing switch matches 61401809
- Inspect the pressure sensing tubes and fan for blockages or damage before replacing the switch
- Confirm the fan is running and the flue is clear, as faults elsewhere can mimic a failed switch
