What it is
The Chaffoteaux 61400261 is a fan assembly for the SX 11 FF range of gas boilers. It moves combustion air into the burner and pushes flue products out through the flue system, and its speed is monitored by the boiler's control board as part of the ignition and safety sequence. A failed fan will normally stop the boiler from firing.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out or fails to fire, with the fan running slowly, intermittently or not at all
- Grinding, scraping or rumbling noise from the fan housing on start-up
- Fan spins freely by hand but does not run when the boiler calls for heat
- Repeated lockouts cleared by a reset that return as soon as the boiler tries to ignite
- Visible damage, distortion or contamination around the fan impeller or housing
