What it is

The Sime 6139763 is the front insulation panel for the combustion chamber on Sime Superior MKII gas boilers. It sits at the front of the combustion chamber, where it shields the surrounding casing and components from the heat of combustion. Over time the panel degrades with heat cycling and needs replacing to keep the chamber correctly insulated.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Visible cracking, crumbling or flaking of the insulation surface
  • Discolouration or charring beyond normal heat marking
  • Insulation panel breaking up or dropping away from its seating
  • Heat damage or scorching on adjacent casing and components
  • Panel found deteriorated during a routine service or combustion check

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model is a Sime Superior MKII variant
  • Check the model number against the manufacturer's parts list for your appliance
  • Confirm the failed panel is the front combustion chamber insulation, not a side or rear panel
  • Inspect the remaining chamber insulation for damage while the appliance is open
