What it is
The upper support frame assembly is a casing component manufactured by Sime, supplied under part number 6138770. It forms the upper structural support within the boiler casing, holding the upper casing sections in position on the appliance. It is listed for a range of Sime Format, Climit, Metro and Metropolis gas boiler models.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The upper casing panels no longer sit square or flush against the boiler body
- Visible corrosion, cracking or deformation on the support frame
- Fixing points on the frame are stripped, snapped or no longer hold the casing securely
- The casing rattles or moves because the upper support has lost rigidity
- The frame has been bent or damaged during servicing or panel removal
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model and serial number against the fitment list above
- Check the existing upper support frame for damage and confirm the part number 6138770 is the component required
- Verify whether any casing fixings or fasteners are also needed, as these are not confirmed as part of this item
- Check the appliance's installation and service documentation before dismantling any casing
