What it is
The Ariston 61312668 is a 3 bar pressure relief valve used on Ariston and Chaffoteaux domestic gas boilers. It sits on the sealed heating circuit and opens when system pressure reaches its 3 bar set point, discharging water through the boiler's relief pipework to protect the heat exchanger and other components from over-pressurisation. It is a direct replacement item for the valve fitted across the Clas, E-Combi, E-System, Genus and Clas One families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The system pressure gauge climbs past 3 bar and keeps rising during heating cycles.
- Water is discharging continuously from the boiler relief pipe, or the pipe is wet when the system is cold.
- The valve weeps or drips at the outlet with the system at normal cold fill pressure.
- System pressure drops repeatedly after topping up, with no visible leak elsewhere on the circuit.
- The valve body shows scale, corrosion or a hardened seat after long service.
Before you order

- Check the sealing washer or gasket at the valve connection and replace it if it is compressed or perished.
- Isolate the appliance, drain the relevant section of the heating circuit and depressurise before removing the old valve.
