What it is
The Chaffoteaux 61016247 base gasket is a sealing component used on CELT STAR C and CELT STAR CT natural gas boilers. It seats at the base joint of the appliance, where it forms a seal between mating surfaces to prevent leakage. As a service part it is replaced when the existing gasket has hardened, split or begun to weep.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible water or condensate weeping at the base joint
- Staining, crusting or corrosion around the gasket seating face
- Gasket material hardened, flattened, cracked or brittle on inspection
- A smell of gas or a detected leak at the base joint
- Seal disturbed or damaged during servicing of the base assembly
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and serial number against the manufacturer's parts list
- Check the part number 61016247 matches the gasket currently fitted
- Inspect the mating surfaces for pitting or distortion before refitting a new gasket
- Confirm the quantity required for the joint being worked on
