What it is
The Chaffoteaux 61009766 is a heating thermostat used in Chaffoteaux gas boilers. It monitors and controls the heating circuit temperature, signalling the boiler to bring the heating on and off as demand changes. It is listed under boiler thermostats within the gas boiler spares range.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler does not respond when the heating is called for.
- Radiators fail to reach temperature, or the heating runs continuously without shutting down.
- The boiler cycles on and off erratically or short cycles during a heating demand.
- Heating temperature overshoots or falls well short of the setting.
- Heating operation becomes intermittent, with the boiler cutting out before the demand is satisfied.
Before you order
- Confirm your boiler model and, where shown on the data badge, the GC number against the fitment list.
- Check the part number on the existing thermostat and compare it with 61009766.
- Note the superseded code 100976600, as earlier thermostats may carry this number.
- Confirm whether your appliance is the NAT GAS variant where the model listing specifies it.
