What it is
The Chaffoteaux 61002802 is an ionisation electrode used across a range of Chaffoteaux gas boilers. It sits in the burner circuit and supplies the ionisation signal the control board uses to prove a flame is present and allow the gas valve to stay open. It is listed for the Britony, Calydra and BAXI Genesis appliance families, including B80, B100, System II and Plus variants.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out shortly after ignition, or fails to stay lit
- Repeated flame detection lockouts during a heating or hot water demand
- Boiler fires and then cuts out intermittently
- Electrode tip visibly worn, cracked, corroded or heavily carbonised
- Flame sensing faults that persist after the combustion area has been cleaned
