What it is

A control knob manufactured by Chaffoteaux for the Moduloflame 280 and 420 gas boiler range. It fits onto the boiler's control spindle and is used to set the flame or modulation setting. The knob is the user-facing component that transmits rotation from the front panel to the control beneath.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The knob spins freely on the spindle without changing the boiler setting
  • Cracks or splits in the knob body causing it to slip or come away
  • The knob no longer sits flush against the front panel
  • Difficulty turning the control, or the knob working loose in normal use
  • Missing knob, leaving the control spindle exposed

Before you order

  • Confirm your boiler is a Chaffoteaux Moduloflame 280 or 420
  • Check the model and data badge details against the manufacturer's parts list
  • Inspect the control spindle for damage before fitting a replacement knob
  • Isolate the appliance in line with current gas safety requirements before working on it
